When I spotted these scalloped blue shorts I knew they were MADE for color-blocking. I'm absolutely obsessed with mixing blue and red, so this peplum top was an obvious choice.

Denim western shirts are so easy to throw on and go! Just like a denim jacket, it instantly pulls together an outfit and matches everything. Whenever I'm unsure about what I want to wear, this top is an automatic go-to in my closet!

Why are accordion pleats SOOO cute? They give a little bit of texture that makes a skirt or dress interesting. I can't lie, the first thing that caught my eye about this dress was the polka dot top, but when I saw the accordion detail it was a done deal. If you look closely, the bottom of the pleats fade into thin air giving it a flirty edge.

When you look closely at this dress a nautical theme with prints of boats, fishes, and waves pops out. But I must say what officially got me was the rope tie halter! Anthropologie and those little details--OBSESSED <3

Mixing prints can be tough, but when you choose two classics like stripes and polka dots, it turns into a piece of cake! I like to choose one color that ties both prints together (for example, in this outfit I pulled black into my top and my earrings). If you still find mixing prints challenging, try to mix in an accessory (like my earrings from above) as an accent instead of two focal pieces. This is a safe and subtle way to get your feet wet prior to diving in head first!

Ok LOVE LOVE LOVE this top! You can totally rock acid wash denim without looking like AC Slater (to be honest, I'm not sure why anyone would NOT want to look like him!! lol) The modern versions of acid washes are rad: denim tops, denim vests, and my personal fave--vintage Levi's shorts. What do you think of acid wash? A go or a no? I would love to hear your thoughts!!!! <3

Fabulous Weekend Finds

My unbelievably stylish bestie came to visit me this weekend, so naturally shopping was on the itinerary. We went to a local artist party at this amazing boutique called Fawn, where there were a ton of must-haves. Even though I wanted a million things, I was able to edit it down to a reasonable amount! Once I saw the scalloped edges on these shorts I knew I needed them and the color combo on this blouse is perfection (personally I can never have enough pink in my wardrobe!!). I also spotted these locally made cross earrings that are going to become an instant go-to. And I had to show you the stunning green earrings my lovely friend gave me. One Dress, Two FAB Ways

I found this dress on Shopbop and fell madly in love. The high-low hem creates a fresh take on the classic LBD. While looking for ways to style it I automatically went for bright colors and a go to bootie (ALWAYS a go to for me). Then I thought, "How could I convince my gorgeous friend, Ana, to obsess over this dress?" See Ana has a completely different aesthetic than me. I'm very "over the top" and she is more "laid back". So I created a version to match her style. She inspired the styling on the right! I will let you guys know if she approves, LOL ;) Have a FAB weekend lovers!!

Hello from this owl lover! The print on this Zara top is too cute for words and I love the gold studs on the collar. Studs on collars are grabbing my attention lately..too be honest studs and spikes everywhere from bracelets to denim shorts are grabbing my attention. Maybe the perfect DIY project for some boring pieces hanging in my closet?  ;)

FYI- the last picture is my FAV necklace! I bought him at Anthropologie a couple years ago and his name is Oscar. I figured I couldn't make a post mentioning owls without showing him some love!! <3
